Concept
The concept of this website is to provide artists somewhere to easily display their work on web pages of their own. All that is required from a featured artist is a decent quality .jpg image of a work and an optional written description. The works can be any type of quality artwork: drawings, paintings, collages, photographs, AI images or fabricated work that can be reasonably classified as art.
- Each featured artist has their own 'thumbnail' image gallery.
- Each image in the gallery has a title below it and links to an image page with a larger version of the image and an optional description beneath.
- The image pages contain navigation arrows that link to the next image or the previous image.
- Each image page can contain a 'call to action' in the form of a link that opens any web page the artist desires. For example an Instagram or Facebook page or any other web page.
- The 'call to action' on an image page can in principle be a 'Buy Now' button but the main aim of this website is showcasing, not e-commerce.
Promotion
This website is not promoted. The idea is that each featured artist promotes their pages themselves. If a featured artist's page receives visitors, those visitors may well view the pages of other featured artists here. The benefit therefore is not only web pages that can be promoted but the potential for visitors viewing other artists on this website. The more featured artists there are on this website promoting their own pages, the greater the benefit to all.
The package
There would be a fixed small annual charge for each artwork. The artist provides a decent quality .jpg image and an optional written description for each image page. I will then provide the artist's image gallery and the image pages. My work will include making sure the images look their best. If an image is not of sufficient quality to maintain a good standard across the whole website I will say so because other featured artists would expect a generally good standard to be maintained.
So far, this is a trial of the concept to see if it works. I am always open to ideas. The main aim however is to provide artists with a simple, economical way to display their work online in addition to the usual social media formats. This is a website, not social media.
